Blue Skies Smilin’ At Me
...nothing but blue skies, do I see!
It’s already a gorgeous day in RI! I am so grateful for the glorious weather and the time that I have to enjoy it. Good Friday is observed in our district, so no school! Weekdays off always feel extra special and I’m taking advantage. I arose early as usual and made a lovely bowl of oats.
This was a super fruity, hearty breakfast.
- 1/2 c. old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 c. skim milk
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 banana, sliced into the mix
- Toppings: fresh blueberries, fresh strawberries, 1 T. almond butter, and shredded coconut
I always love my oatmeal, but today’s mix was especially good. Fresh berries make everything better!
With a happy belly, I set out to enjoy a brisk, spring walk. It was so sunshine-y and crisp outside. Lucy loved the spring and strutted her stuff the whole way. We stopped to smell the daffodils.
…and enjoyed views of the city as it awakened.
I wish I could begin everyday this way! Being outside and soaking up the sun makes me truly happy! I started to day early because I am anxious to get ready and head out for a day with a great friend! On of my best workout buddies is recovering from shoulder surgery, so we haven’t been able to run together. She’s feeling stronger now and we need to catch up! It will be a fantastic girls’ day out!

Gorgeous pics Becky! You made me want to get out and enjoy it! Although, we did promise Mike that we would take him to see “How to Train Your Dragon.” So, it’s off to the movies we go! However, I will be taking Louis out for a walk and hopefully getting to the gym tonight for a run after the hockey tournament!! Enjoy your weekend and beautiful weather! 🙂
I wish I had today off! the roads were dead and the parking lot is empty so I’m pretty sure everyone else in the town has it off but me. baaahhhh!
